STYLE GURU STYLE: Rip Your Heart Out

“Yes Gramps, they are made with the rips already in them!” Lately I’ve noticed this obsession of mine that’s been forming with ripped jeans: the more rips, the better. About two weeks ago, I came across these beauties that had everything I loved, all in one—high-waisted, faded black ripped skinnies —a dream come true to me and my closet. I hate spending money on expensive jeans, but it is so worth it in the end. The amount of outfits that these can be paired with is endless. These jeans make me feel like a little bit of a rebel, and I love it.

All the buzz is about chunky heels and chokers… and I can’t get enough of them. I’ve never really been into heels only because after what seems like an hour (in reality probably just one minute), my feet are killing me, and I want to take them off. I’ve found out that with these chunky heels, I could literally wear them all night. They’re actually so comfy and can be both fancy and casual, which is a “yes” from me! As for the chokers, at first I was a little on the edge of whether or not I liked that whole look, but it has definitely grown on me. If you’re not sure about the chokers, I’ve loved buying long necklaces and then making my own little choker out of them for a subtler look.

As we head into the new year, I really hope these trends come along with me. I decided to put a plain white T-shirt with these black skinnies to make sure they stood out. I decided to throw on my favorite black bralette underneath for a little more edge. Then, I stacked on a couple of my necklaces, including my choker necklace, laced up my chunky heels, and put a pop of dark lipstick on for the cherry on top.

Going into the new year, I’m excited to see what new trends pop up in the world of fashion. Hopefully my ripped skinnies can stay with me for one more year.
