STYLE GURU STYLE: Red, White and Blue

My summer wardrobe consists of staple pieces that can either be dressed up or down, which is perfect for a chill day by the pool or a night out with your friends.

Taking inspiration from Marc Jacobs spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I took a twist on the chic dresses and outfits and styled a more casual everyday look. This line features a lot of red, white and blue, so I focused on that specific color spectrum.

The look I created screams sporty, and I wanted to create something that included staple pieces that can be worn all throughout summer. To achieve this idea, leggings or jean shorts are something every girl needs in her closet.

My outfit included a Victoria’s Secret PINK tank top which I knotted off to the side. I love this simple and easy trick that doesn’t make you look like you’re drowning in your top. Next, I wore black spandex leggings that have the perfect touch of breathability. Whether you’re going to yoga or a campfire, these leggings will have you covered. Adidas has always been a favorite brand of mine, and adding these shoes really gave it that chic, but athletic look.

I finished my outfit with a bandana, which has to be one of the biggest trends of summer. It can be tied around your neck or worn as a headband in your hair, which is ideal for a hot day.  Sephora’s cream lip stain is my go-to for a pop of color in your lips, because let’s be serious—who doesn’t love a classic red lip?

With the Fourth of July just around the corner, this outfit is one of the many that you can create with simple staple pieces. Whether your bandana is worn in an updo or around your neck, you’ll be rocking summer the right way.

Get My Look: 1. Any tank top. 2. A classic red lip. 3. Sporty shoes.
