STYLE GURU STYLE: Rebel Chic

A big personal fashion goal of mine is to try every style at least once. I watch a lot of different runway shows, and they help me find inspiration to work in new styles. I am a college student, therefore I cannot be spending tons of money on the newest designer pieces from the shows I watch! So, I take what I have in my closet and create looks that remind me of the styles on the runways. There’s nothing like being savvy chic!

I loved Tom Ford’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection from the moment I first saw it. The line is sultry, chic, and elegant. My favorite part about the looks that were sent down the runway were all the fabric and pattern mixing. I usually try to include some kind of mix in my personal style. I knew I could try a new thing without losing myself if I created a look based on Tom Ford’s collection!

There is a lot of black in the line, which I love. I paired black skinny jeans with an animal print blouse. Next came the layers! I layered a black suede jacket over my blouse and then a smokey silver faux fur vest over my jacket. For a rebel-girl punch, I added tall black leather boots and a black leather tote to complete my look. The fabric mix of my outfit creates a rebel chic look that imitates the look Tom Ford created!

I wore my hair slicked back in a low bun just how the models were styled when they went down the runway, mostly because I wanted to summon my inner Gigi Hadid! This fashionable ensemble is perfect because it allowed me to try a style I usually don’t wear, while still letting my own personal style come through! Thanks Tom Ford!
