STYLE GURU STYLE: Polished Prints

Prints have always been one of my favorite staples. No matter what the season, there is always a way to incorporate stylish patterns and colors into your outfit. That being said, spring is one of the most fun times to do just that! Between florals, animal prints and bright colors, the possibilities are endless. I recently saw some looks from the Versace ready-to-wear show and I immediately fell in love. The way they incorporate loud prints, without the outfit becoming overwhelming, is the perfect balance between bold and subtle. These looks inspired me to create my own fun, printed look that is super cute for spring.

My take on the Versace collection includes one of my signature fashion staples practically since ’09. Printed jeans. The best thing about printed jeans is that you’re comforted by the familiar feel of jeans, while also taking a fun, fashion risk. The jeans that I am wearing here has one of my favorite spring prints. It has beautiful pastel colors and a pretty, watercolor floral design. I paired these with a light, neutral colored sweater and a matching color shoe. One of my favorite ways to wear jeans as bold as these is with a more subtle top and shoe, so that the outfit doesn’t become a jumbled pool of prints.

One major thing I have always felt about an outfit emphasizing printed jeans, is the need for small accessories that tie the whole look together. You know the feeling when you’re all dressed in a could be amazing outfit, yet it just doesn’t feel completed? The easiest way to fix this almost completed look is to try out a couple different accessories to see which ones work best. Here, I added a brown belt to accentuate the brown tone of my outfit. Also, I added a bright pink bag to match some color in the jeans and be another fun aspect of the outfit. Lastly, a cute pair of sunglasses will add sophistication to any outfit and also protect your eyes as the sun gets warmer!
