STYLE GURU STYLE: Peace and Bell Sleeves

This summer I’ve been largely taking inspiration from two places: the first being the Patriot’s Peace Memorial in my hometown, that also served as the venue for these pictures, and the second being the See by Chloé resort 2017 collection. Given recent events in the world, the Peace Memorial was the perfect place to pay a visit. If you’re ever in Louisville, Kentucky, I highly recommend stopping by.

What I love most about See by Chloé’s collection is that it reminds me of a simpler time. Many of the pieces are reminiscent of the ’70s, and they all have a very laid back and carefree vibe.

A multitude of pieces in the collection spoke to me, however, my favorite trend throughout had to be the inclusion of bell sleeves in many of the looks! The bell sleeve trend first originated in the ’70s and I was inspired by See by Chloé’s modern take. As you can see, I incorporated this trend into my style via the sleeves on my romper. I was also drawn to the lace-up sandals incorporated in some of the collection’s outfits, which is why I chose to pair my lace-up Steve Madden sandals with this look! I also was enamored with the gold chain purses used to accessorize throughout the collection, which is why I chose to accessorize with my Diane von Furstenberg chain purse.

I took creative liberty when it came to jewelry, though, and chose to rock a variety of Alex and Ani bracelets and my “passions” necklace that was a gift from my parents.

This collection just goes to show that although the ’70s may be long gone, many of the trends of that age will never go out of style. Including peace, love, happiness and good vibes!
