STYLE GURU STYLE: Palazzo Pandemonium

It’s no secret that summertime is when shorts and maxi dresses rule the fashion scene. The intense heat causes us to abandon our long legged bottoms and opt for a cooler alternative. However, this summer has brought a new trend that is giving Fashionistas the best of both worlds.

For my ensemble, I pulled inspiration from the spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection by Kenzo. This line was full of dynamic and unpredictable styles that made this collection one to remember. Kenzo says that the inspiration behind this edgy collection was skater culture. The collection was described as energetic mix where street style was combined with the elegant silhouettes of the 1920s. Kenzo used calming colors and an array of different styles/fits. However, one cannot deny that the most stunning component of the collection were the wide-legged pants also known as palazzo pants. These ‘70s-inspired bottoms hit the scene this spring and have been making waves in the fashion world ever since.

I started my look off with a pair of my beloved black palazzo pants. These bottoms should definitely be a part of every Fashionista’s wardrobe. The fabric of these pants are super light and comfortable. The fit of these pants are very flattering, as well. To match the overall skater tone, I wore a white halter top with black graphics. I thought this went perfectly because while the design of this shirt was rugged, the style of the top was more on the feminine side. I was going for more of casual look so I kept jewelry to a minimum. I wore a small pair of gold hoops and a simple black and gold necklace. To finish off the outfit, I wore an all black cross-body bag and a pair of black and gold Michael Kors sandals which are barely visible due to the length of the pants.

Get My Look: 1. Palazzo pants. 2. Halter top. 3. Sandals.
