STYLE GURU STYLE: Overalls

A pair of overalls, heeled sandals, black and a great lipstick are all staples in my closet. Combining them all together in one outfit is my fashion heaven. While it is nice to be trendy once in a while I do love sticking to classic pieces. This outfit is a mix of trendy and classic pieces which is a must for any college students closet

Taking inspiration from the rag & bone’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I combined classic and alluring pieces, which is what David Neville and Marcus Wainright were going for in this collection. I also mostly stuck with the color palette which was a lot of muted colors of denim, knits and cotton. I combined this inspiration with the casualness of the Madewell spring  2016 collection ready-to-wear collection, which included many looks with denim and an overall street look to the collection.

Classic pieces can always be reinvented. In this outfit which mostly consists of classic pieces, my goal was to make it look different and alluring somehow. In order to achieve this idea, I mixed a medley of different textures in order to create a visually interesting outfit. Denim, cotton and leather all counterbalance each other.

My outfit includes a black sleeveless crop top tucked into a pair of dark wash overalls. To add to the look I wore blocked sandals and added a fringe purse to dress up the look.

Black and denim will never go out of style, but to add a little bit of trendiness to the outfit I sported the black fringe purse which can be found at any store. These pieces come together to create a chic yet alluring look that I love to wear when I want to feel trendy but chic at the same time.
