STYLE GURU STYLE: No Tears Allowed

For me, this summer has been the summer of many firsts. I got my first romper, scored my first internship and, drumroll please, overcame my fear of online shopping by making my first successful online order from There were no tears allowed on this shopping trip while snuggled in pjs one Thursday morning. While the extremely experienced online shopping Fashionistas may feel comfortable ordering pants, I decided to start off slowly with dresses and accessories. This look was inspired by  Marios Schwab’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, filled with the use of minimal solid fabrics for his designs to create a simple and clean look.

As you can see, everything from head to ankles (not my shoes) is from Boohoo is great because they always offer such wonderful discounts, give free shipping for all orders over $50 and automatically give every university student an additional discount each day as part of their partnership with UNiDAYS. As a Style Guru who is always looking to save some money when it comes to shopping, this was a huge bonus!

The main part of my outfit is the super comfortable black dress that is absolutely everything any Fashionista could possibly want! It’s simple and plain enough that I can dress it down or up depending on where I’m at. Plus, I loved the neckline and open shoulder detail that gives what would otherwise be a plain black dress an elegant touch. The dress is a lightweight and extremely breathable material and it’s at the perfect length where you don’t have to spend anytime fussing over it. I decided to add a little sparkle to my outfit with a hand chain that stands out against my simple black flats and black dress. While this outfit is extremely minimal, only three items total, I really love it and know that it’ll be my go-to outfit on a busy day when I feel like dressing up.

Want to try out online shopping? Do it. I was extremely anxious before and couldn’t believe that people could buy something without trying it on. Now that I’ve done it once, I’ve been ravaging all online stores with great deals for my back to school shopping spree!
