Everyone needs a LBD or a Little Black Dress in their closet. My LBD is a style that has been seen on the runway this year. The slip dress has been a very popular fashion trend this summer. My look is inspired by the Calvin Klein spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Within the collection there are neutral colors like whites, cremes, blacks and grays. Most of the garments are silk and sultry. I of course took the inspiration of the slip dress and the neutral color look from the collection and made it my own.
My favorite things about the slip dress are that it is light, comfortable and still creates a sexy silhouette for women. Before you go out and look for the trends that are popular today, look in your mom’s closet because most trends today were popular in the past. My slip dress is actually my mother’s from almost 15 years ago, which makes it vintage! I always look in my mother’s closet before going out and buying trendy pieces because I never know what I will find in her closet. The dress is a black BCBGMAXAZRIA with lace trim on the bottom and an open back. With the slip dress I then paired it with a pair of strappy heels from Forever 21. For jewelry, I did not want to do too much jewelry and I wanted a little pop of color, so I went with a pair of single gem drop earnings that are green from Kohl’s to give my outfit a little bit of color. This outfit is perfect for a girl’s night out, a dinner date or just a night out on the town.
