STYLE GURU STYLE: Marsala Is A Must

Rebecca Minkoff’s recent runway show was brilliantly bohemian-inspired, flaunting fringe, floral blouses, leather pants and embroidered effects. But an ever-present color in her creative collection was easy to spot. The marsala shade from the fall 2015 Pantone Color report was definitely Minkoff’s go-to.

I followed Minkoff’s perfect color palette and rocked a recent find from my school’s Fashion Club event, “ThreadsonThreads.” In return for donating my clothing, I gained a new wardrobe piece, my dress! Its feminine, flowing structure and simplistic cotton fabric is perfect for college wear. Another element I loved from Minkoff’s show was the way she paired dresses and skirts with decorative tights and casual boots, so I decided to try it out for myself using my campus as a runway. With my dress, I wore a pair of sheer black tights and slate gray booties. I also spruced up my look with accessories using a copper colored necklace and a tan tote bag to give me that bohemian-chic vibe.

Rebecca Minkoff’s ready-to-wear line inspired me with its trendy style while delivering necessities that every college girl needs. All of her outfits include cute, wearable pieces us college girls can actually afford. The structure and function of her clothing is perfect for our age group, and I plan to follow this designer closely, incorporating more of her looks into my everyday apparel. With Rebecca’s price conscious line, who knows, maybe I’ll even purchase her fall pieces for myself in the near future?

Get My Look: 1. An oversized tan tote bag. 2. An adorable marsala colored dress. 3. A perfect bohemian-inspired necklace.
