STYLE GURU STYLE: LWD

Ah, the Little White Dress, a nod off of Coco Chanel’s Little Black Dress (LBD), which is a classic staple, has been reintroduced into the fashion world in a new color. Perfect for any occasion, white looks sleek, trendy and more whimsical than its black counterpart. I’ve been rocking this look for quite some time now, and have no intentions of stopping. Here’s to investing into new color staples!

I took style inspiration from Valentino’s spring ready-to-wear fashion show for my post this week. The white lace featured in the runway was gorgeous and timeless. As an adaptation of look 41, a long sleeved white lace number, I rocked this look to my brother’s graduation. Wanting to look sophisticated and on trend, this white mini dress had me styled for the season.

The rest of Valentino’s collection features beautiful dark pattern work, maxi dresses galore, multicolored lace and gladiator sandals on almost every model. “Little-House-on-the-Prairie-chic” as my mom would call it, this pretty peasantry is well displayed.

For my own look, I decided to wear this RAD white lace mini with long sleeves allowing for a cropped bottom half, gold drop earrings, my kate spade wristlet and my nude block wedges. I wanted the styling to add tiny detailing to the look without taking away from the standout lace in the dress.

Finding a white lace dress is so easy this season, as many retailers took clues from spring 2015 ready-to-wear. While gladiator sandals are trendy and fabulous, opting for a nicer wedge or heel is useful for a nicer occasion. And finally, my go-to handbag is actually a wristlet; it’s big enough for my phone and a couple of credit cards, but small enough to be discreet and not bulk up my outfit.

Get My Look: 1. Long-sleeved white mini. 2. kate spade wristlet. 3. Drop earrings. 4. Nude wedges.
