Tamara Mellon’s resort 2016 collection is insanely beautiful. Colors of the collection consist of bright summer hues mixed with dark neutral shades such as coral, aqua, dark gray and military green. The line also featured white rompers, baby blue flowy dresses, black one piece ensembles and peacock and cheetah patterns. What really drew me to this collection was the gold accents that could be found on the coral, baby blue and white outfits, which are all my favorite summer colors. The fringe details on certain looks really put a unique twist on this collection.
I decided to mimic Mellon’s chic runway look, especially look 12, by wearing a radiant coral blouse, high-waisted, cream-colored shorts with gold button details, beige wedges and a fun patterned bag. I incorporated the color palette from her collection into my own look. I tucked in my blouse to add emphasis to the high-waisted shorts. When wearing wedges with high-waisted shorts, it gives off the illusion of longer legs. I added gold accessories to match the gold accents Mellon had in her collection. I also wanted to add the gold necklace and rings to match the gold buttons in my shorts.
The resort 2016 show inspired me to wear bold, bright colors. As a result, I cannot wait to go to a summer cookout, a shopping trip downtown or a night out and own my new style. I will keep these recent fashion tips in mind when I go to put together future outfits!
