STYLE GURU STYLE: Little Black Outfit

Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel was the founder of the well known fashion brand, Chanel. She was the woman that set women free from their restricting corsets and the brand later became known for their little black dress (LBD). The little black dress became a classic for women and still is to this day. I know for myself, the little black dress always comes in handy. It is simple, classy and flattering, you just can’t go wrong! With that being said, I chose to analyze the Chanel spring couture 2016 runway show. Within this collection, there are quite a few little black dresses. They are very different from the little black dress you expect, though. They are a little longer in length – instead of being just above the knee, they are right below or even longer. The dresses are also paired with little jackets and collars that add a lot more to the classic LBD. There are added details like buttons, ruffles and different fabrics. I guess you could say the little black dress is way more than just a little black dress now.

I love black and I also love dresses. They are so easy but make you look so put together! I do think that sometimes it can be hard to find a dress that fits you perfectly the way you want it to. I decided to put a little twist on the LBD and turn it into a LBO, or little black outfit. Since the LBD has become so much more than just a little dress, why not just put some cute, black clothing together and call it a little black outfit? It’s pretty easy to do, you just get some black clothes you like and throw them on! Just as easy as a dress.

Get My Look: 1. Pencil skirt. 2. Lacy bralette. 3. Big mesh long sleeve. 4. Flats. 5. All-black everything!
