STYLE GURU STYLE: Little Bit of Lace

The struggle of trying to look fashionable in 90 degree July weather is real. I try my best to be comfy and cute despite the summertime heat, but get bored of wearing the same basic sundress all the time. While looking through Vogue’s recent runway shows, I came across one that gave me the idea on how to add a little something to my typical sundress.

My outfit was inspired by the Zuhair Murad spring couture 2016 collection. His vintage look featuring the embroidery of lace, beads, sequins and more stood out beautifully from the pastel shades of material he used. From long to short dresses and even jumpsuits he continued this theme throughout his entire collection. The use of lace and pastel colors is what stood out to me the most from the models on the runway.

My purple pastel dress with lace lining the bottom was perfect for the look I was going for. However, I was still missing that little something. My white lace and mesh kimono was the answer to what I was looking for.

I paired my dress and kimono with my favorite pair of nude wedges. I decided to go with a pink lipstick to add a pop of color to this more neutral-toned look. I also chose to wear my hair up in a ponytail to show off the embroidered lace on my kimono. This look is comfortable, easy to achieve and perfect for the summertime.

Get My Look: 1. Pastel-colored dress. 2. Lace kimono. 3. Nude wedges.
