STYLE GURU STYLE: Keeping It Simple

Recently, I came across the 6397 pre-fall 2015 fashion show. Designer Stella Ishii, once again, showed that you could have a gorgeous and effortless style with basic clothing pieces. Her collection contained lots of denim and mostly neutral colors. I believe I found her collection so appealing because it is so different from what I usually like. Her clothes seem so minimalistic and ready to wear that I could see myself wearing any single look and feeling comfortable and ready to do whatever I had to do in my day. Ishii certainly knows how to target all kinds of people. There is something for everyone, and that’s something not all designers achieve.

Stella Ishii saved me a lot of trouble during this holiday season! My family had planned a skiing trip to Beaver Creek Mountain in Colorado last week and as we all know, skiing attire is not an easy thing to pack. With limited space in one single suitcase, I couldn’t possibly bring all the clothing I wished I could. That’s when it hit me! I could use the 6397 collection as an inspiration to decide what to take to my trip and still manage to look fashionable. For this look, I wore wardrobe essentials, including skinny jeans, a graphic long sleeve shirt, rain boots, gloves and a thick winter jacket to endure the freezing weather during my trip. The experience of using Ishii’s clothing as an inspiration was an interesting one. Normally, I would never go this simple with my clothing and accessories, but now that I learned how practical this is, I will definitely use it in the future. This way I will avoid many headaches when I travel, and I will still feel good about the way I look!

Get My Look: 1. Skinny jeans. 2. A graphic shirt. 3. Rain boots.
