STYLE GURU STYLE: It’s Not Easy Being Green

This morning I was all ready to leave for the day, until I came across my bag. Does a green shirt clash with a green purse? As I looked to Style.com for advice, it quickly appeared to me I could continue on. The Row pre-fall 2015 runway show had a lot in common with what I was going for, oversized ensembles, knit turtlenecks, monochromatic colors and a little green.

I translated this runway trend into a super easy, casual day outfit. I love the silhouette of tank tops and tunics this summer, higher necklines and flouncy bottoms. To complement my top, I added a pair of boyfriend jeans. The Row displayed some oversized attire, so I figured I could mix and match, too. These jeans are comfortable for a day out exploring and will not stick to your legs like a dark pair of skinny jeans in the summer. I chose my faithful Birkenstocks for the long day out, similar to a pair of chunky sandals from the runway. Now for the main attraction, that forest green satchel. I’m still in awe at the fact that it was the exact same color as my top. So my advice for you, go bold! Don’t be afraid to match too much. Well, of course, unless you’re trying to rock that Britney Spears denim fad. I almost forgot one more thing—accessories. I chose to go for some funky bohemian jewelry. Large statement rings and a stone pendant really pull everything together.

Get My Look: 1. High-neck tunic. 2 Slouchy boyfriend jeans. 3. Colorful cross-body.
