My inspiration for this look came from the L.A.M.B fall 2015 ready-to-wear show. Gwen Stefani never fails to impress me. Her style is unique and exciting and to me it’s a breath of fresh air. Look 14 in particular stood out to me the most. The green plaid wool coat, paired with the moto style leggings and the pointed toe loafers are a recipe for absolute perfection. The model maintains a feminine appearance while wearing these fairly masculine pieces. I think the look is executed very well and looks très chic!
I had my own take on this look from the L.A.M.B collection. I swapped out the green plaid wool coat for a green and blue plaid flannel shirt that I found in the men’s section at a second-hand store, and then I put a leather jacket over that. The leather jacket adds more edge to the look but still captures the essence of the outfit the model is wearing, and brings the whole look together nicely. I am wearing faux leather leggings that I got from Garage as opposed to the moto style leggings the model is wearing. Another change I made to make the look more weather appropriate was replace the pointed toe loafers with pointed toe booties. The booties are leather with gold buckles. The leather coordinates nicely with the leggings and the jacket, and the gold buckles match the gold accents in my Michael Kors bag.
