STYLE GURU STYLE: Girly Tomboy

Menswear inspired 6397 by creating loose-fitted clothing for their pre-fall 2015 collection. These outfits consist of layered T-shirts, sneakers, crew necks and relaxed-fit jeans. There is a slouch element to this collection, but 6397 makes these outfits look casual and effortless. What made me love these designs are how comfortable also looks clean and how formal clothing is dressed down. When I want to be comfortable, I end up in sweatpants sometimes, but these outfits give me ideas on how I could still look both comfortable and casual. Along with looking casual, the silk dresses are paired with sneakers and a thin cardigan to create an everyday look.

For my outfit, I stuck with the neutral colors that flowed throughout the collection. Since I loved how formal pieces were played down, that is what I did with my oversized topcoat. I paired it with a loose-fitted T-shirt, skinny jeans and Vans Canvas Sk8-Hi. To have a bit of femininity, my T-shirt had some embellishment along the neckline. Also, I added a pop of color with my red lipstick. These elements add some flare to my outfit since it is simple. Instead of carrying a purse, I put my necessities in my leather backpack. I decided to use a backpack to keep the masculine vibe throughout my outfit.

I loved this collection because the style is right up my alley. My favorite thing to do when I go shopping is to also shop in the men’s section so I can mix up my clothes. These designs gave me an insight on other pieces of clothing I can look for.

Get My Look: 1. A T-shirt with embellishment. 2. An oversized topcoat. 3. A leather backpack.
