STYLE GURU STYLE: Girls Who Brunch

Sunday mornings in the summertime are meant for one thing and one thing only: brunch. What’s better than mimosas, french toast, girlfriends and a perfect excuse to rock a cute topknot and that maxi dress you just got?

Maxi dresses are perfect when you’re either in a rush to get yourself together, or when you just want to feel comfortable but also fashionable at the same time. Basically they are a God send for the summertime. You could look like it took you hours to get ready in the morning, when in reality you hit the snooze button at least five times.

Personally, I like a maxi dress with a print because for me it’s all about the design. Since you are really only wearing one piece of clothing you might as well go all out. Aztec and floral prints are extremely popular this summer. The other thing that’s great about these dresses is how well it pairs with a light jean jacket if you happen to run into those rare chilly summer mornings. Valentino’s resort 2017 runway show really inspired my admiration for long dresses. The collection featured a number of long gowns that were vibrant, fresh, and embodied the hot summer months.

Although I love a good pair of shoes, depending on how long your dress of choice is you might just be able to get away with a solid color flip flop or sandal. However, maxi dresses pair great with wedges.

In this look I decided to go with the solid flip flops since they are mainly hidden underneath the dress. I also paired the look with some stackable bangles in both gold and silver to match my cream and white dress.

To make sure the dress doesn’t get lost in my long curls, I decided to throw my hair up into a messy topknot bun. This hairstyle is both simple and adorable.

Get The Look: 1. Maxi dress. 2. Bangles.  3. Wedges.
