STYLE GURU STYLE: Fringey Feels

My favorite colors to wear have always been black, rusty hues and all different shades of green. The Balmain spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection mixed all of my favorites together into a line that I was head-over-heels for. This collection seems nature-inspired and really spoke to me this season: from the colors and fabrics used, the fringe detailing and the beautiful silhouettes of these pieces, this line is truly a work of art.

For my outfit, I chose to pair a solid black halter top with a rust-colored skirt because of this stunning dress from the line. The halter top I chose has a criss-cross tie in the front to channel the lace-up accents on many of the shoes from this particular Balmain collection. For my bottom half, I chose my favorite Western-inspired skirt with a fringe detailing on the bottom to incorporate the fringe on a few of the dresses in the line. My ensemble is much simpler than the decadent fashions of the collection to show how a Fashionista can pick and choose simple elements to get inspiration for their outfits. I took my photos amongst the richest greenery I could find to really emphasize the color combinations and the nature aspect of the line.

The accessories I chose for this outfit are just my every day pieces that I feel naked if I go without. My bag is a simple black cross-body purse from Coach, and I chose it to match my favorite booties from GoJane. The makeup I did for this look was simple: to contour I used the Kat Von D Shade + Light palette and a neutral eye palette from Coastal Scents to enhance my eyes. For the lips, I used ColourPop’s liquid lipstick in the shade Limbo.

Get My Look: 1. Plain black halter-top. 2. Rust midi skirt. 3. Black booties.
