STYLE GURU STYLE: Flower Power

We all know that ’70s trends are back in style, and whether you’re rocking the bell bottom jeans or the flowy, bell sleeve tops, there’s something about ’70s attire that makes you feel so cool; maybe it’s the fun, loose fitting pieces or the bold patterns, but either way, there’s no denying the ’70s are back and better than ever. That’s why I fell in love with the Miu Miu fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. The show included ’70s tapestry maxis and jackets and a mix of tweed pieces that stylishly mixed casual and professional. The first part of the show included lots of looks that paired crisp white with jean pieces.

I found inspiration for my look from the first few ensembles and the pairing of denim blue and crisp white. I am a huge fan of simple, sleek outfits, and these looks were simple, stylish and had that ’70s feel I love. I decided to wear my current favorite M.i.h cropped, patch jeans with a white Calvin Klein linen top. The wash of the jeans pairs nicely with the white and provided the perfect canvas for some fun with shoes and accessories.

To add a bit of that ’70s flare, I added a pair of platform, flower power sandals. The shoes are so comfortable and add some character to the overall simple look. To pull everything together, I wore a Brandy Melville choker and a mauve lip color—the perfect, neutral yet fun accessories!

Get My Look: 1. A pair of cropped jeans. 2. A simple white top. 3. Some fun platform sandals.
