STYLE GURU STYLE: Floral Frenzy

While the summer season is sadly coming to an end, the flowers are still blooming which means we still have time to show off our latest summer fashions. Whether heading downtown for lunch or to a date night on the beach, combining floral-patterned and complementary-colored pieces that are made of diverse materials could create the perfect ensemble for either occasion.

I am all about making a fashion statement with neutral colors, flats, few layers and simplicity. With that being said, I was recently inspired by the kate spade spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, which assisted me in styling one of my favorite summer looks that resembles a beach-chic style. This collection focused on an outdoors, natural theme consisting of relaxed vacation-inspired looks. While I was inspired by the entire collection, the white and green colored two-piece look with the large black tote is what I centered my thoughts around while creating my look.

I turned my inspiration from the kate spade new york collection into a beach-chic style of my own with black, high-waisted, dressy shorts that consisted of a floral pattern and combining them with a white top detailed with floral embroidery on the front and a plain gray colored back. Chic looks are all about statements of simplicity, which is why I completed this look with a dainty gold cuff, white and tan colored Franco Sarto sandals and a reversible vegan leather Street Level tote. My favorite aspect of this look is not only the simultaneous comfort and trend of my Franco Sarto sandals along with the reversibility of my everyday tote, but the uniqueness and diverseness of each piece’s material ultimately creating a versatile season look.
