STYLE GURU STYLE: Festival Season Edition

April sparks the start of festival season beginning with Coachella, one of the hottest music festivals of the year. No need to fret if you are unable to attend this year; there are plenty of other great music festivals (that are local and inexpensive)! In honor of my birth month, and my personal favorite (festival) season, I have dedicated this month’s article to showcasing my style in hopes of sharing some outfit inspiration for any upcoming music and art festivals.

The look featured in this article is perfect for frolicking in the desert and elsewhere. I am wearing a romper from Free People that gives the illusion of a dress with the comfort of a loose pair of shorts. Because it is low cut, I am wearing a basic black bandeau underneath. This romper is great for lounging in the shade or perching atop a pair of shoulders to get a better view of the stage without having to worry about undesired exposure. The jewelry I include in the look might be light, but it is just right.

I paired the romper with a matinee style necklace and added flash tattoos for further embellishment. When dancing around to music, it is important for me not to be weighed down by too many heavy accessories. Additional accessories in my look are a pair of simple black shades, a flower crown for a pop of color, and a light jacket to throw on when temperatures cool down in the evening. To complete the look, I am wearing one of my favorite pairs of heeled ankle boots from Forever 21. Regardless of whether festival season begins at Coachella for you, or consists of you dancing around to concert live streams at home, I hope this look gives you some inspiration for getting into the festival spirit!
