STYLE GURU STYLE: Feelin' Nauti

Question: Will Ralph Lauren ever cease to amaze me with his collections? Answer: Not a chance. Once again, his spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection blew me out of the water with the classic and oh-so-beautiful nautical inspiration. The juxtaposition of the bright color-blocking and crisp whites was undeniably a Ralph signature, and his newest collection was the inspiration for my strictly-neutral look.

Amid the eye-catching vibrancy and pattern that flaunted down the runway, the white-on-white ensembles stood out among the rest, and I immediately knew I wanted to mirror that color palette with my wardrobe this summer. The best part about pairing white garments together is how effortless it is to look exceptionally chic, and I believe that is exactly what Ralph Lauren was striving for with this seafaring theme.

I chose to recreate his collection with a pair of white flare jeans and a neutral off-the-shoulder blouse. I didn’t want to complicate the outfit with too many pieces because I was aiming for clean and simple. I have always been a fan of wide belts and cinched waists, so I was ecstatic that they were an essential accessory used in his collection. I used a laser-cut belt to tie in my loose blouse so I could showcase my waist and add an extra touch of femininity to the look. To top off this seaside style, I added cork block heels, a woven cognac tote and acrylic oval earrings that complement the color palette.

Whether you’re going on a summer shopping spree or to an ocean-side soirée, you’ll be set with this classic and sophisticated outfit. Summer is the perfect chance to sport the all-white trend, and the basic staples in your closet are dying to be used, so get to it.

Get my look: 1. White flare jeans. 2. Neutral striped blouse. 3. Wide belt. 4. Cork block heels.
