STYLE GURU STYLE: Embroidered Love

I have to admit I have a weakness for neutral colors when shopping for new pieces to add to my wardrobe. I die for all-black ensembles. They are so clean and refined that I just cannot resist. I mean, can you blame me?

But I do have to remind myself that it is summer and wearing all-black may not be such a good choice. When choosing my summer wardrobe, I chose to take some inspiration from Alexander Wang’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection.

His collection included gorgeous bright colors lined with black fabric. A lot of the accessories that were in some of the looks went perfectly with the clothing that he designed—I just had to get pieces that resembled them even a little bit.

I chose to wear a yellow embroidered crop top paired with black textured pants. My black pumps are from the brilliant Vince Camuto and my bag is by Prada. I chose this look because I needed some inspiration for any new outfits to wear over the anticipated weekend following a long work week. I was always feeling that I was wearing the same all-black outfit all the time. The pop of color is just what I needed to spruce up my weekend look.

I think that my favorite part of this outfit is the detail in the embroidery of the crop top. It is new and refreshing. I also love a bag that can be worn just on the shoulder or switched to a cross-body. I dislike nothing more than dealing with a huge purse when going out for a night on the town with my friends.

Basically, I am seriously obsessed with this look and cannot wait to wear it out this weekend!
