STYLE GURU STYLE: Edgy and Effortless

My style is very much inspired by the queens of model street chic: Kendall Jenner and her bestie, Gigi Hadid. I strive for the effortless, cute casual look. I tend to wear neutral outfits, but glam it up with different accessories. I typically wear at least one choker with any outfit. What can I say? I am a fan of the nineties. Also from my nineties obsession would be my love for denim. Denim jeans, jackets, chokers; you name it, and I probably wear it on the daily.

To showcase my style, I put together this outfit. I love this gray sweater that has simple lacing on the sides. I think this little detail frames the sweater really well. I will usually look for pieces that have small details, such as this lacing, that add to the look, so you can just throw it on and go. I never leave the house without a choker on. This thin black choker is one of my staples. It is perfect for many outfits.

Another trend that I am a supporter of would be belts. A black belt with a nice buckle dresses up any look. I also love ripped denim, which takes up a huge portion of my closet. I have jeans that are almost all rips, a detail in itself that also adds an edgy looks.

Since I am a student at a school with a large campus, I am all about being comfortable. Simple sneakers allow you to walk anywhere and everywhere—and look great with all outfits. These plain, white sneakers are my new favorite. Being in Indiana, it gets cold in the winter. I always layer up and wear jackets. This leather jacket is fashionable and warm for those cold walks to my 9 a.m. I am always looking to change up my style and look for inspiration on campus. I can’t wait to write about looks I find this semester!
