STYLE GURU STYLE: Denim Overload

For anyone who knows me, I love to put together outfits that are both trendy and different. With that being said, this denim on denim trend is something I totally wanted to take part in.

This trend might look simple, but in order to look your best it is important to pair the right shades of denim with each other. To achieve the best-looking color combination, the dyes of the denim needs to contrast. For example, your goal is to put together lighter denim with a much darker denim shade as you do not want to try and match the exact shade of the material together.

When putting this outfit together, I was inspired by Tom Ford’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. He showed a lot of denim on denim outfits with multiple color contrasts. I have been seeing this trend both on and off of the runway lately, and I personally think it’s great as long as it’s done the right way!

This amount of denim should be paired with nude or neutral colored shoes since the overall trend is such a bold look. Also, you don’t want too wear much jewelry or accessories with this type of outfit and I personally feel that the main focus should be on the fabric. Something I love about this trend is that it was popular in the ‘90s, when most of us were growing up and now it is coming back into style.

Get My Look: 1. A denim button-down. 2. Denim cut-off shorts. 3. Nude sandals.
