STYLE GURU STYLE: Denim-On-Denim

I wasn’t always a big fan of the denim-on-denim trend. I thought it was extremely hard to pull off. But after seeing Tom Ford’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I am not afraid to proudly announce that I have hopped on the denim-on-denim bandwagon. Tom Ford pulled out all the stops with this collection. The blend of feminine lines and menswear-inspired cuts are near perfection. Between the wide range of animal prints, denims and furs, it’s not hard to find a piece that is suited to your style. Because I am a big neutral lover, the reoccurring theme of neutral, monochromatic outfits is also something I thoroughly enjoy.

To try and mimic the denim on denim element of the collection, I grabbed my favorite jean jacket and paired it with a pair of jeans with a darker wash. To keep the outfit neutral and monochromatic, I threw on a gray tank-top and some Birkenstocks. Tom Ford did such a great job of adding texture to each outfit. I wanted to add my own texture with a fringe, crossbody bag and fun, bright accessories. I would definitely wear this look on a day-to-day basis and be confident with my choice.

I am so glad this collection encouraged me to branch out and try a trend I was hesitant about taking on. Denim on denim is such a hot trend for this summer and fall, and it’s a pretty easy look to achieve. The basic elements and comfortability make this trend one to love.

Get My Look: 1. A denim jacket. 2. Any pair of denim jeans. 3. A fun, textured bag. 4. Some bright bracelets.
