STYLE GURU STYLE: Coral Me RAD

Oscar de la Renta has always been one of my favorite designers. The Oscar brand creates the most beautiful gowns and new creative director, Peter Copping, knows how to make his enchanting designs radiate. This season, the Oscar de la Renta spring 2015 ready-to-wear line was full of delicate, pretty pieces in rich colors. The collection had a young and playful tone with lots of pinks and florals but also included classic black looks as well.

I was inspired to incorporate this collection into an outfit when I saw de la Renta’s version of a fit and flare dress. Also known as the skater dresses, this figure-flattering style is my all time favorite type of dress and should be a staple in every Fashionista’s closet! Out of all the pink hues, I was drawn the most to the warm coral shade of this dress from the fashion show. I tried to achieve this look by combining the shade and shape of the two dresses. The dress is bright and bold by itself, so I stayed minimal with the rest of the outfit.

Of course, my look would not be complete without some edge to go with the femininity, so I added a nude snakeskin clutch with a handle that looks like spiked knuckle dusters. Throwing in an edgy element is always a good idea in my book and this clutch does just that (as gorgeous as it is, I’ve shocked a few with it!). Gold belts and brooches were seen in the collection and I felt the clutch with gold accents was appropriate.

Staying true to my love for nudes, I chose a pair of beige flats that are so versatile and can be worn with anything. Owning basic pieces in neutral colors is a must, trust me! On my wrist I wore a moonstone bracelet with hints of yellow and gold to maintain the warm tones in my outfit.

Coral is ideal for summer and is chic enough that it falls within the color palettes of top fashion designers this season. de la Renta’s collection can be easily integrated into everyday looks because it consists of pieces you might already own (crop tops anyone?), so take a look through his line and be inspired! Don’t hesitate to take on these looks because you can never go wrong with Oscar de la Renta.
