STYLE GURU STYLE: Cooking Up Some Magic

If you’re able to perfectly pull off casual wear and have all eyes on you, then all the awards to you. Pairing a dress and heels is easy, but putting together an outfit that achieves comfort, effortlessness and casualness all in one take? That, ladies and gentlemen, is a work of art (or maybe even a little bit of magic). It’s impressive when a guy or girl can look like they are going to rule the world by how well they put an outfit together. You can buy all the clothes in the world, but how you style it is the real revelation.

So if you’re wondering how to reach a level of Alexa Chung, Taylor Swift and Olivia Palermo in the effortless “it” factor category, then Emma Cook’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection is your go-to. This collection combines soft and feminine while entering the world of effortless casual. Let’s just say you can wear this collection’s pieces to a day of shopping, a brunch with friends or even to an evening party!

My personal favorite was look five. It was right up my alley with cutesy pieces that incorporated the ideal feel of comfort. I decided to wear my mint green floral top with a simple pair of black shorts. Though look five had a cute mustard sweater, I went with this top because Florida weather would’ve murdered me with anything close to a long sleeve. It’s also perfect for the summer vibe, and its light weight will prevent me from suffocating from the heat. Now I’m a firm believer in that you can never go wrong with a pair of booties, so I paired this outfit with these black little fellas. I’ve had them for a few years now and they are still a perfect match for the majority of my wardrobe. To finish off the look, I wore my boater ivory hat for the extra feminine detail and a soft pink lip.

Get My Look: 1. Floral top. 2. Black shorts. 3. Boater hat.
