STYLE GURU STYLE: Color Your World

Let’s face it, florals for the spring and summer seasons is nothing out of the ordinary. Florals have been a trend for many years, and I don’t see the trend stopping anytime soon. I strongly believe that some trends are definitely timeless.

Although I am definitely one to be constantly seen in all-black, I’ve recently found a lot of inspiration in neutral colors, specifically from Carven’s resort 2016 collection. I discovered how much I love earthy tones with a hint of pastel: dark browns, nudes, black (of course) and a splash of turquoise or lavender, like this outfit. After seeing this particular collection, it made me realize how simple it is to add a pop of color to a neutral outfit without being too colorful.

I came across these shorts from Zara while last minute shopping for a Lollapalooza outfit and instantly found myself drawn to them, despite my fair habit of staying away from busy patterns. They are extremely comfortable and the color palette is flattering for everyone!

After trying them on, I instantly realized that the sandals that I had been wearing to the mall matched the shorts perfectly. I decided to pair a simple tank top to the shorts to complement them. And, of course, I can’t live without my statement necklaces, so I added this one to the look.

If you’re anything like me and tend to wear dark colors, dip a toe in the water and try to add some color into your life! It’s extremely simple to do so and can open your eyes to a whole new world of colors!
