STYLE GURU STYLE: Coated In Shearling

A shearling coat, beanie, turtleneck and some Chelsea boots are staples in my winter wardrobe. I kept this look casual by adding a pair of boyfriend jeans. Warmth is definitely one of my top concerns when dressing for cold weather. The freezing temperatures and winter winds make me feel like I’m living in Siberia.

My look is inspired by the Burberry pre-fall 2016 collection. Similarly, I took Christopher Bailey’s classic and tailored design and made it into more of a casual outfit. Burberry is one of my favorite designers, alongside Acne, rag & bone and Chloé. In this collection, Burberry focused on military-inspired pieces and styled them into practical, yet eye-catching outfits. Most of the looks included a coat, handbag and a pair of flare pants. In my look, I tried to used the same color palette, by wearing a dark brown jacket trimmed with fur and carrying a brown satchel.

When you’re all bundled up to brave the winter, it’s important to have a statement coat. My outfit includes a ‘70s-inspired shearling coat that will also keep you warm. There are so many different and unique styles packed into one trend. I enjoy how shearling coats can be long or short, lined with faux fur or wool and made with suede or leather. Underneath my coat, I’m wearing a black turtleneck to keep my look chic. Moreover, a pair of Blundstones are the perfect boot to walk through anything: snow, slush and ice. To finish my ensemble, I top it off with a wool beanie from Free People.

During winter, don’t let the snowfall get you down. Gear up on a shearling coat, beanie and a pair of Blundstones to help you travel from class to class or doing errands. Altogether, these pieces create a comfortable and posh look.

Get My Look: 1. A shearling coat. 2. A pair of Blundstones. 3. A fuzzy beanie.
