STYLE GURU STYLE: Classic Peacoat

Frigid temperatures. Harsh wind. Slushy snow. These are some of the words that come to mind when we think of winter. However, if you look at winter from a fashion perspective, these are words that you may think of: leather boots, cozy carves, classic peacoats. For me, winter fashion pieces are some of my favorites. I love zipping up a pair of tall boots or buttoning up a snug coat before stepping outside on a cold winter’s day. I find the peacoat to be one of the most classic pieces of winter fashion. It can be dressed up or down and always adds sophistication to any outfit.

To create my look, I took inspiration from Bally’s resort 2016 collection. In this collection, Bally showed many tailored and structured pieces, which included multiple peacoats, an ivory trench coat and a coral suit. In the collection, a wide variety of colors were seen. I was inspired by the cool colors, contrasted with light neutrals. For example, one of the outfits shown was a white blouse worn underneath an unbuttoned navy peacoat.

For this look, I paired a white sweater with a classic purple peacoat and dark skinny jeans. I wanted to contrast the dark colored peacoat against a light sweater in order to achieve a similar look seen in Bally’s collection. To accessorize my outfit I wore black leather riding boots with gold accents. I added a pair of black gloves with cute bows to add a fun touch. To keep warm, I threw on a black infinity scarf, which is a stylish cold weather essential.

Get My Look: 1. Classic peacoat. 2. Riding boots. 4. White sweater. 4. Gloves. 5. Black circle scarf.
