STYLE GURU STYLE: Cavalli Palooza

Palazzo palooza! Hey college Fashionistas/os! When I think of the word palooza, I always think of a big extravagant event, like a runway. Palooza is your runway and palazzo is my STYLE GURU STYLE trend!

I’ve always searched for a word for the pants I am wearing in this outfit. I wasn’t sure how to categorize them. Some people call them wide-legged pants while the fashion world calls them palazzo pants! Palazzo pants are super wide and loose pants that can be discovered in multiple patterns and colors. These pants were wildly popular in the ’60s and ’70s. Palazzo pants are taking over the world by storm. Not only are they becoming a go-to for Spring and Summer but they are also taking over runways. I put this outfit together on a lovely breezy day and went into a town called Highland Park with one of my friends. Since the weather in New Jersey has been so unpredictable lately, I thought these pants were the perfect fit. Heavy in length but light, airy and thin so you won’t feel uncomfortable or sweaty.

Starting at the bottom of my outfit, I had to include my strapped boot sandals because the palazzo pants are so long. These helped since they have a large heel which is needed because I’m short. (Sometimes I wish I wasn’t 5″0′..) You’d think because of the heel walking around town all day would be tiring and painful but these shoes were comfortable as ever! Next, going up to my pants of course they are printed palazzo pants. The pants are dark navy with a dot pattern. At the bottom of my pants there are paisley and embroidery designs.

For my shirt, I chose a fitted cropped tank top. I tucked my fitted cropped tank top into my palazzo pants because of it being very long on me. If I left the shirt out I feel it would take away from my palazzo pants even though there really isn’t anything to focus on with a white shirt! Finally, I finished my outfit off with a faux leather cross-body bag and a pink statement necklace that made my whole outfit blossom!

In my opinion Roberto Cavalli showed in his Just Cavalli Resort 2016 that anyone can wear palazzo pants. In his collection, Cavalli used ’60s-styled clothing. The outfit that I found inspiration in was printed palazzo pants with a little blouse and a gold statement belt. Instead of wearing a belt, I flipped this outfit in my own way by wearing a statement necklace in place of it. What I like most about Roberto Cavalli’s whole resort collection is he didn’t just show that anyone can wear palazzo pants, but he showed that sometimes the expensive, fashionable clothing on runways can look just like our very own outfits.

Get my look: 1.Fitted cropped tank top. 2. A pair of palazzo pants. 3. On Alert sandals. 4. A fabulous necklace. 5. Cross-body bag.
