STYLE GURU STYLE: Casually Cropped

Can’t seem to ditch the comfy sweatpants? The upcoming trend, cropped flares, are the perfect alternative!

Comfort is always the first thing that I look for when finding those perfect garments. I first saw cropped flares in the Vanessa Seward fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection and immediately fell in love! Although I was intrigued by her color palette, I decided to stick with neutral colors, giving my outfit an urban feel. I know flares can often be an intimidating garment to try, but it takes risks to find your own personal style.

Taking inspiration from Seward, I combined comfort with class. I combined this inspiration with the color palette from the Brandon Maxwell fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection, which also had an urban, classy feel to its pieces.

Comfort pieces can always be dressed up. With my outfit, I took the casual look of cropped flares and a tank, then dressed it up with a vest. Although trends can be fun to play around with, I always try to find garments to add in order to make them unique.

My outfit includes an American Eagle Outfitters tank tucked into my Billabong cropped flares. The differences in fits pulls the outfit together. To dress this up, I added a DayTrip vest. In order to shy away from being too trendy, be sure to add a unique piece. I wore a pair of Lucky lace-up flats.

When being trendy, always, always, always take a little risk and be unique! You will find your own personal style and be able to run with it!

Get My Look: 1. Any black tank top. 2. Striped cropped flares. 3. Lace-Up flats. 4. Mid-length vest.
