STYLE GURU STYLE: Buzzin’ to Summer

Hello Fashionistas/os! It’s summertime and I am currently typing from Charleston, South Carolina. So far on this trip, my style has been fun, funky colors, flowy looks and bold bags. Summertime is such a fun time to really experiment with different looks and accessories, and that is exactly what I think Temperley London achieved in their resort 2017 collection.

This collection is filled with looks that radiate the essence of summer. They use bold contrast, have flowy silhouettes and even the models are styled with beachy waved hair. I am completely in love with this collection. Recently, I have been really into bold color embroidery. Temperley London has a lot of this on their dresses, having embroidered wild patterns, bumble bees and floral designs.

I recently purchased a blush pink dress for my vacation and it is a summer staple! The flowy backless dress from PacSun keeps you cool from the South Carolina heat but also is extremely comfortable. This is a one-size-fits-all dress which allows for a lot of variation with different ages and body types. Since the dress is more plain, there is a ton of room to accessorize. It can be paired with many things and you are able to capture many different looks.

The look that I went with was the dress with a burnt orange bralette, two simple necklaces and an embroidered statement bag from Steve Madden. The bag is my newest purchase, and I am obsessed with it. It is white with colorful designs stitched in; the designs are very similar to the designs shown in Temperley London’s collection. The bag is so bold that it is really the focal point of the look. So because of that I matched very simple jewelry with it. I only wore two necklaces, one being a bumble bee (one motifs shown in the collection) and the other being the letter “H”. So far this effortless look has been one of my favorites and I look forward to adding more colorful items in my summer wardrobe!
