They say nothing is entirely black and white, but a lot of ensembles from Zuhair Murad’s pre-fall 2015 show would beg to differ. The show features a plethora of crisp lines, subtle detailing and sharp colors. Although the collection has splashes of bright colors like royal blue, black and white pieces dominate it and are truly breathtaking. There is something so timeless and elegant about pairing black and white together, and Zuhair Murad’s collection really captures the beauty and simplicity of the color combination.
I braved the cold Ohio weather and styled my look around black, white and tan, which was inspired by Zuhair Murad. I chose black boots and leggings to create a slimming effect on my lower half and then selected my Rachel Roy coat to create a nice contrast in colors. Underneath, I’m wearing a tan blouse that has black leather detailing along the collar, which perfectly coordinates with the leather of my boots. The zippers on my coat also work well with the zippers on my boots, adding a bit of flash to an otherwise basic outfit.
My style is usually simple and somewhat preppy, so I was able to stay within my fashion comfort zone to try out this look. I really like that these colors are flattering on all shapes and sizes, so it’s easy to recreate Zuhair Murad’s collection with your own personal flairs and pieces. If you can’t resist a bit of color, use a bright handbag or scarf as the focal point of your outfit.
