Spring 2016 is the season of black and white. This color palette is fresh, clean and easily transitional through the exciting change from winter to spring. Christian Dior’s spring 2016 show flawlessly executes the black and white trend. Known for chic, luxurious pieces, Christian Dior’s spring collection is no exception. Simple colors, classic shapes, clean lines and stunning construction are just a few things that came to mind as I watched this show. However, the black and white ensembles stood out to me the most, all brought together by a classic and glamorous red lip.
I was inspired by the freshness of the black and white color palette and simple chic style of Christian Dior’s spring collection to create a more casual, fun look for this upcoming season. My chiffon polka-dot shorts are paired with a classic cream mock neck sleeveless sweater. With contrasting polka-dots, my kate spade Keds add a fun touch to the ensemble. I kept my outfit details minimalistic to match the simple style of Christian Dior’s collection, only accessorizing with a touch of red lipstick, similar to the runway models makeup.
This trend is versatile for any Fashionista/o no matter his or her style, and I can’t wait to see the students of Ohio State University rocking their neutrals this spring. I’m personally excited to continue incorporating black and white into my outfits this spring through patterns and both unique, yet classic statement pieces.
