STYLE GURU STYLE: Beachy Boho Jumpsuit

Since it’s summer break, I thought I would write about how to be trendy while staying cool at the beach. Recently, jumpsuits have been trending because of their effortless look as well as their easy comfort. Designers such as Max Mara, had several different variations of jumpsuits in the resort 2016 fashion show. I was particularly interested in this beige silk jumpsuit. This jumpsuit is perfect for the upcoming summer, since it’s made with a thin fabric that has a gentle touch on your skin.

In order to maximize that breezy summer look, I decided to purchase a jumpsuit made with a boho tribal pattern found at H&M. I actually bought this jumpsuit for 525 yen ($4.23), at a thrift store in Japan called Hard-Off. Hard-Off has brand and high-quality clothing that are often brand new or in excellent condition for half or a third of the original price. If you are ever in Japan and love to thrift, I would highly recommend you check this store out—it’s where I get majority of my clothes.

Since jumpsuits have an elastic waistband above the bellybutton, jumpsuits give the added impression that your torso is short while your legs go on for days. As the fabric flows from the waist to your feet, it allows your legs to look thinner and longer as well. Who doesn’t want that, right? What’s also great is that jumpsuits can be used as an easy-to-wear cover-up for your swimsuit while looking trendy and fashionable.

In order to maximize the effortless boho look for the summer, I decided to wear my jeweled sandals from Target with my jumpsuit. The sandals gives the look a “beachy” vibe while allowing comfort for the foot verses wearing high heels. It also doesn’t hurt that the jewels give your feet a little sparkle that it deserves.

To top it all off, I decided to wear my Audrey Hepburn-inspired ALDO sunglasses with skull earrings. The sunglasses are not only a reflection of the ’60s style, but also adds a hint of classiness to the overall look with its cat’s eye shaped frame.

Since I like to add a quirky, fun factor to my looks, I was inspired by Betsey Johnson’s jewelry and decided to wear my jumpsuit with my skull earrings. These earrings match the jumpsuit while showing my playful and fun side for the beach this summer. If you want to look effortlessly classy while staying cool and comfortable along the beach side, jumpsuits are a definite must this summer.

Get My Look: 1. A silky boho patterned jumpsuit. 2. A pair of classy cat eye sunglasses 3. Pair of jeweled sandals.
