STYLE GURU STYLE: Back In Black

Black is totally a go-to color whenever and wherever. 90 percent of my closet is filled with black clothing. From black pants to black tops to black socks, the amount of this one color I own will continue to grow. Wearing all-black can be tricky. This is so because sometimes it can be hard to wear a solid, one color outfit and still look fab, not just lazy. Black to me is chic and sophisticated. An all-black outfit is classic, trendy and will catch my eye no matter what.

Christophe Lemaire’s collection in the fall 2014 ready-to-wear fashion show definitely proves my point. The collection features a ton of looks consisting of black from head to toe. Models are seen wearing black sweaters with black pants, scarves and even shoes. Taking after this look, I decided to put together an outfit of my own. I am wearing a black long sleeve Free People top paired with black crushed velvet flare pants. Pants that are tight throughout the legs and flare at the bottom are my new obsession. They are super comfy and super stylish at the same time. To dress up my outfit a bit, I decided to throw on a gold and light pink necklace from J.Crew. Although you cannot see my shoes, I chose to wear black suede ankle boots to complete my outfit.

Wearing all-black is one of my favorite looks, especially in the winter. This collection reminded me not to feel out of place when wearing an outfit consisting of just one color. Sometimes, simple and chic is the look to go for!
