On a spontaneous trip to New York City during winter break, I was having a tough time deciding what to wear, since it felt like it was below zero outside. I wanted to be warm, but also not look like I was being swallowed by a heavy winter jacket or look like humungous marshmallow. I decided to be like Hannah Montana and get the best of both worlds with a cute and stylish look, but also be warm and comfy while exploring one of my favorite cities. The Louis Vuitton fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection inspired me to try a fur coat. This was totally out of my comfort zone, but I was so excited to try something new!
I was able to add my own style to this outfit by adding a Ralph Lauren black turtleneck under the furry coat to help keep extra warm. I also added black leggings, fringe boots and a hat to complete this look. The black and cream colors gave my outfit a nice contrast, and helped the texture of the coat stand out. I was also able to add a pop of color with the garnet sunglasses. And of course, I’m wearing my signature gold monogram necklace.
So, the next time you’re exploring a city on a cold and chilly day and are in need of something that is fashionable as well as functional, I would highly suggest a fur coat to keep you warm and cozy. As they say “New York is always a good idea,” and so is a fur coat!
