STYLE GURU STYLE: Baby, I'm a Classic Man

Olive is typically thought of as a fall color, but this past year, it has made a huge impact on both summer and spring attire. Based on past fashion trends, it will definitely stick around due to its versatility and wearability. Olive is a color that almost anyone can wear well without having to try too hard. Gieves & Hawkes knew this well and featured the color for their upcoming spring 2016 menswear line. The collection consists of several dressy, casual looks while hosting an array of earth tones. This collection is smart in the sense that it caters to men who like to appear dapper but do not like to draw too much attention with flashy colors and obscure fashion trends.

Gieves & Hawkes showcase blazers and how adaptable they are with almost every look. The line houses both casual and dressy looks, but it features outfits that could be worn by the same guy. This week, I chose to combine the two for a night out with my friends. I wasn’t really sure of the dress code, so I chose to dress down my olive cotton blazer with a pair of oxblood colored joggers and a cream and black polka-dot button-up. The look was perfect for a cool summer night and definitely made me stand out within my group. I did, however, have to have a little fun, so I chose to be a little extreme with my earrings.

Get My Look: 1. An olive blazer pairs great with darker tones and enhance rich skin tones. 2. Joggers are my favorite pant types, and are usually offered in several different styles and colors. Any type of neutral top will do as the base to your outfit. 3. A cream button-up.
