STYLE GURU STYLE: Athleisure Addiction

I love a cool, breezy maxi dress or a patterned bodycon skirt as much as the next fashion enthusiast, but athleisure is one of my absolute favorite styles. So, you can imagine how filled with joy my heart was while scrolling through what was easily one of my favorite fall 2016 ready-to-wear shows: Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma collection. RiRi described the looks as something the Addams Family would wear to the gym, so does it really get any better than that? (Hint: nope.) From the neutral hues to the athletic fervor, this collection undoubtedly reinforced my love for the comfortable, yet fashionable trend.

With this collection in mind, I put together a nice, relaxed outfit to wear for a day out with friends. I didn’t have the uber dark lipstick and Morticia Addams would have given me a displeasing eye roll at the lack of dark clothing, but the Fenty x Puma collection mainly inspired the achromatic and athletic aspects of the look. The light gray sleeveless hoodie that has my new mantra, ‘Eat Pray Slay,’ boldly printed in white on the front was an eye-catcher and led to quite a bit of compliments while I was out. No big deal.

I matched it with white cropped jeans and white canvas sneakers to create the soft, neutral color palette. I didn’t go as heavy on the jewelry as I usually do. All I decided to accessorize with was a pair of silver hoop earrings, midi rings and my favorite silver, pave-accented watch from New York & Company.

I can see some of my favorite celebrities wearing something like this while strutting around town. Zendaya, Cara Delevingne, Kate Hudson and Rihanna, of course, are my top picks because I’ve personally crowned them the Queens of Athleisure.

Get My Look: 1. Hoodie. 2. Cropped jeans. 3. Sneakers.
