STYLE GURU STYLE: All Fringed Out

In the midst of this unbearable summer heat, I can’t help but wish it was fall already. With that in mind, for this outfit I had to channel my favorite season: autumn.

I was inspired by the Burberry Prorsum fall 2015 ready-to-wear runway show. The first look of the gallery, which was a fringe poncho, automatically caught my eye and I knew I wanted to incorporate the fall trend into my summer outfit. The runway show had darker, deeper colors with much bolder prints. Additionally, the line had lots of elements of texture, including suede which I also included in my look. I love the look of fringe and I couldn’t help but incorporate it into my summer wardrobe.

Instead of a poncho, I chose this black suede, fringe top for my top piece because it’s super light. It has an open back which I love because it keeps my body cool and prevents me from overheating. I paired my fringe top with some classic, high-waisted denim shorts. I chose the distressed, high-waisted shorts in order to prevent from showing too much skin; with an open back, I didn’t want my stomach to be showing as well.

For my accessories, I chose a gold statement necklace that gave my black fringe top more detail and kept it from lacking any color. I also wore my aviator Ray-Bans, which kept my eyes protected from the sun and served as a fashion statement. Instinctively, I wore my gold watch that I never leave the house without. My silver, glittery Steve Madden sandals are insanely comfortable and give my feet extra sparkle, making them perfect for summer.

I threw my black felt hat on top of my fishtail braid, a look that is super easy to put together. The hat and braid combo is effective in shielding my face from the sun and making sure the wind is not constantly blowing my hair into my face. I put on a nude lip color in order to prevent my look from looking too dark. Lastly, I threw on my black leather backpack to hold all my essentials!

I wore this outfit to go shopping down by the beach where I’m out in the sun all day. The look was really effective in keeping me cool. I really love this look and all the small autumn details that were incorporated into my summer outfit. I think it’s a great outfit for any outdoor activities to keep you looking stylish and cool.

Don’t be afraid to mix any other season trends into this season’s wardrobe to create a fun look!
