We see it everywhere, fringe and ’70s detailing is back in full force. Many of my fellow Fashionistas have even written about this dominating trend. How can one resist some fringe? With its fun movement, it can make anyone want to dance around all day. Rocking some fab fringe is easy. Whether you want a little no fuss fringe on a purse or a cute pair of shoes or if you want to go all out and work that statement jacket or skirt, the world is yours for the taking when you put on some fringe. Wearing fringe is easy and will always add that pep to your step that’ll have you dancin’ in the streets.
Many fall 2015 collections featured fringe designs but added a modern twist to their garments, making this flashback detail look fresh and new. Two collections, in particular, are Alexandre Vauther fall 2015 couture collection and Rhié fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I love how Alexandre Vauther’s collection is full of modern architectural silhouettes but with fringe detail to add movement and a little playfulness to the garments. Then with Rhié’s collection, it is more about subtle fringe detailing in sweaters and in the hems of the garments. But what drew me in most about this collection was the rich color combinations and the play on shape and volume.
Even though I love summertime so much for the lightweight fabrics, shorts, sandals and the lack of responsibility, I do love fall clothing. The colors are so decadent and there are so many options for layering, giving me way too many choices, but I love it dearly. I am always a sucker for burgundy, I probably own enough of the color to wear some every day. Taking that color in conjunction with another one of my go-to colors, navy and you have a winning outfit combination in my book. For my look, I wanted to make my suede fringe skirt look a little more modern, pairing it with a structural blazer. But this outfit is still summer ready with my crop top and sassy strappy sandal, making this look perfect for a day of bopping around and then to a night of pretending to be the salsa dancing emoji.
Wearing fringe can be easy peasy when kept minimal. You want the focus to be on that dazzling statement fringe piece. So playing with classic shapes and bold color is a great option to add a little razzmatazz on top of all that free flowing fringe goodness.
