STYLE GURU STYLE: A Little Bit of Everything

Fashion Week is once again upon us here in New York City. For me, the runway shows are always either an overall hit or miss. I’m still currently dreaming about the Saint Laurent spring 2015 runway show because of how good it was. The looks were mostly neutral, but featured pops of red, green and blue. The brand stuck to its usual aesthetic; the outfits featured a little bit of everything including eccentric patterns, furs, metallics, leather and even accessories. Saint Laurent shows time and time again that components of an outfit don’t have to be matchy-matchy. Outfits usually look better when you find almost seemingly random items that piece together for a stand out look.

With the spring runway show on my mind, I chose to wear an outfit that contains a few of the styles that Saint Laurent presented. My outfit began with a black mid-length leather skirt that I paired with a sheer silver tee. As I previously mentioned, many of the outfits from the runway show had an element with a pop of color in order to stand out from the mainly black attire. I decided that my pop of color would be in the form of a simple red lip. I grabbed my black Pashli satchel, adding even more sparkle to the outfit. Last, I went with ankle boots and wrapped myself in what has become my signature leopard print coat.

Saint Laurent has been my go-to for inspiration for some time now, and I think it’s safe to say that the brand will continue to retain this status with each new collection. I plan to continue grabbing inspiration for my current wardrobe from the spring 2015 runway until next season’s looks are presented!

Get My Look: 1. The perfect leopard print faux fur coat. 2. A delicious red lip. 3. A long black leather skirt.
