Hi! My name is Zayra Duran and I am Elmo (kind of). Currently, I work as a dancer at SeaWorld San Diego. I get paid to dress up as Elmo and take pictures with cute children! I also for work at Culture Shock Dance Center, a dance studio focused on hip-hop and providing growth for dancers. I am a proud San Diego native and a San Diego State University student majoring in sociology.
As I mentioned before, I was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by beautiful people and beautiful scenery. In this environment, it is easy to get into the chill and easy going rhythm that makes up San Diego. Because San Diego is such a melting pot of people and cultures, it is easy to understand why my style is not set in stone. My outfits usually reflect the way I am feeling or the way I want to feel, and for me there are no restrictions when it comes to trying new things or wearing whatever comes to mind.
I have been fortunate enough to work with great companies such as Victoria’s Secret Pink by being part of their campus street team, as well as working with Keds as a Brand Ambassador. I have been greatly influenced by these brands and most of my outfits usually consist of oversized T-shirts, gold jewelry or a classic white pair of Keds.
