Hi there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Yuly Perdomo and I currently attend Florida State University. I am a senior majoring in Retail Merchandising and Product Development and minoring in Communications. I am so excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista for the very first time.
Fashion is something that has been present all my life even in ways I did not even know. I think back now to my six year-old self picking out accessories or outfits in movies and wishing that I could wear them. I even have notebooks filled with drawings of clothes that I did in elementary school. Even though all the signs were there, I always thought fashion was not something that I could do as a profession. However, as I transitioned from my senior year of high school into my freshman year of college, I realized that there is a place out there for everyone who loves fashion. I am excited to find my way in this industry, and I think helping out others by being a Style Guru is a great new experience for me.
I hope as a Style Guru I am able to inspire others to express themselves through fashion in different and trendy ways. It is definitely very hot in Florida during the summers so I’ll be on the lookout for some cute, trendy outfits that can still allow you to walk through 90 degree weather. As mentioned on my Style Guru page, I love variety. My style can change with my moods or what I’m feeling I would like to try for the day. I can go from wearing a sundress one day to wearing leather pants the next day. As you can see from my outfit I do love to incorporate leather when I can, even with a skort! I like to stay simple when it comes to accessories but I do think that the right statement piece can make the difference. I hope I can show variety in styles through the Fashionistas I choose and that you’ll find it easy to replicate these in your closet. Get excited!
