STYLE GURU BIO: Trinity Brown

January 2nd, 2015 at 2:00am

Hey there, fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Trinity Brown and I am a sophomore at Columbia College Chicago. I am currently studying TV Production and Directing, with hopes to one day have my own fashion-based talk show. This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I am nothing but excited!

For me, fashion was always something I would subconsciously wander into. I didn’t realize how much of an eye I had for it until recently. After starting my blog was when I came to the realization that fashion is natural for me. People reading my blog were very impressed by my unique, reasonably priced fashion finds. Even more shocking is that people were asking me for fashion advice! That’s when I knew I had to incorporate my love and never-ending attraction for fashion into my future career.

Growing up where I did, I wasn’t inspired on the daily when it came to fashion. However, after moving to Chicago I was constantly inspired by the many different styles of everyday people. Within just these two years, my personal style and fashion expertise have evolved greatly. Having the opportunity to work with College Fashionista, Black Fashion Week USA and pursue my dreams in television is the beginnings of nothing but success for me. Some of my winter season must-haves include an oversized-fur-vestheeled lace-up-booties and an animal-print satchel.

Although my personal style has evolved, I will always have a thing for tons of color, regardless of the season. Because your style speaks for you, I’ve always wanted my style to say that I’m fun, effervescent and friendly. In the midst of my style speaking for me, it has always been important for me to have unique pieces—pieces that aren’t easy for a stranger to guess where they were purchased. The fascinating part about style is it’s all you; therefore, it can never be wrong because you created it.

I look forward to keeping you all posted on Chicago fashion. Be sure to check back every Friday to stay updated on what the Windy City has to offer. Be inspired daily, and remember style has no voice other than your own.
