STYLE GURU BIO: Tiffany Kwong

Hello, fellow Fashionistas/os. My name is Tiffany, and this will be my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista! I am super excited to share my articles with all of you.

I describe my style as classically versatile. If I did not live in Canada, I would be in a dress or skirt every single day. Luckily, it has been a very mild winter here in Toronto!

I started my outfit with a cute teal scuba dress from Dynamite. My wardrobe contains so many dresses that I actually have a separate closet just for them. I believe in investing in your wardrobe, I invest in my closet by choosing articles of clothing that I can wear for multiple occasions. I have already worn this dress for an interview, a day to school and an interview. Next, I am planning to wear this dress for my birthday dinner.

Something that I have been absolutely obsessed with lately is a wool coat. I picked up this lovely wool coat with lamb leather from Club Monaco the Thursday before Black Friday. A lot of shops will offer the Black Friday sale the day before, so if you want to avoid the crowd next year try heading out on Thursday. A black wool coat is stunning, but a wool coat with leather accents adds an extra flare to your outfit that gives your look an extra edge. Wool is also very insulating to help keep you warm. Don’t buy a coat that isn’t comfortable, though; if you have to spend a little bit of extra cash for Italian wool like this coat then go for it. There is nothing worse than a itchy wool coat.

I finished this look with a cute pair of knee-high boots. I love a high boot for the colder weather because it’s something that allows you to wear a skirt or a dress while keeping your legs nice and warm.

One of my number one rules for an outfit is to keep it simple. Sometimes, I’ll buy one special item to pull an outfit together like a statement necklace, but other times beautiful and classic pieces speak for themselves.
